The Heart Behind So Much of Our Care
Celebrating Our Incredible Techs
There are some people who become such an important part of a workplace that it’s hard to put into words what they mean to it. These five women are those people for us. LPH is better because they’re here, and this month we want them to know just how deeply they are loved and appreciated.
Paula
You may be our newest tech, but the calm and kindness you’ve brought with you were felt almost immediately. You have this quiet, steady presence that makes the people and animals around you feel safe. We are so grateful you chose LPH.
Desare
You have taken on so many responsibilities and somehow continue to show up for everyone around you. We see how much you carry, how often you step in and how much of yourself you give to this clinic. We trust you, depend on you and appreciate you more than you know.
Jordy
You are quite simply one of the hearts of LPH. You bring a warmth into this building that can’t be taught. You make people feel cared for, patients feel loved and difficult days a little easier just by being yourself.
Lilly
You’ve been here since day one. When we look at everything LPH has grown into, you are woven into so much of it. You have given years of your heart, knowledge, loyalty and hard work to this place. We truly would not be where we are today without you.
Tianna
Our favourite little know-it-all — because somehow you can do everything. When something goes wrong, someone needs an answer or we just need someone who can figure it out, you’re the person everyone looks for. We are so lucky to have you.
Meet Molly
One Very Sweet Girl 💙
Our sweet 9-year-old American Cocker Spaniel came to see us after her family noticed a growing lump on her left ear. They made the great decision to have it checked, even though it wasn’t bothering her.
Molly later returned for mass removal and a dental cleaning, and everything went smoothly! After several follow-up visits for her Penrose drain and sutures, we’re so happy to say that Molly is back to being her happy self. 🥰🐶
💙 A special thank-you to Molly’s family!
Their early attention, patience and commitment to following our medical team’s instructions and attending follow-ups played an important role in Molly’s smooth recovery.
We’re so proud of this sweet girl. Keep being your happy self, Molly! 🐶💕
October Awareness
Healthy Today. Happy Tomorrow.
Wellness isn’t just about treating illness — it’s about helping keep your pet healthy, comfortable and happy for years to come.
Even when your pet seems perfectly healthy, regular preventive care gives our veterinary team an opportunity to notice subtle changes early.
Regular Exams
Routine exams help our team follow your pet’s health over time and notice changes that may not be obvious at home.
Preventive Care
Vaccinations and parasite prevention are important parts of protecting your pet throughout their life.
Dental Health
Your pet’s mouth is part of their overall health, and regular dental assessment can help us identify concerns early.
Nutrition & Weight
Balanced nutrition and maintaining a healthy body condition support long-term health and mobility.
Watch for Changes
Changes in appetite, energy, behaviour, bathroom habits or mobility can sometimes be early signs of a concern.
You Know Them Best
Small changes matter. If something about your pet seems different, it is always worth asking your veterinary team.
Behind the Scenes at LPH
When They Eat Something They Shouldn’t 👀
When your sibling makes questionable life choices and suddenly everyone is under investigation. 😂
This sweet boy was suspected of getting into something he shouldn’t have, so our team induced vomiting to make sure.
🎥 A little behind-the-scenes look at veterinary care at LPH
The good news? He was innocent all along! 😇🐶
His sibling, however… had some explaining to do.
⚠️ Think your pet ate something they shouldn’t have?
Contact a veterinary professional for guidance. Whether vomiting is safe or appropriate depends on what was swallowed, how much was swallowed, when it happened and the individual patient.
Never induce vomiting at home unless specifically instructed to do so by a veterinary professional.
Breaking News
PLOT TWIST: FREE SUGAR
For once, Peanut is NOT the one behind bars. 😳
This time, his girlfriend Sugar has found herself in kitty jail. Naturally, Peanut had to stop by for visitation hours to make sure his girl was holding up okay.
We’re not sure what Sugar did to land herself in lockup… but considering the company she keeps, we have our suspicions. 👀
— Peanut, allegedly 🐱🔒❤️
Ending October in Style
Cory & Gio Understood the Assignment.
Cute? Obviously. Stylish? Always. 😂🐾
Cory & Gio are some of our favourite familiar faces, and every time these two walk through our doors, we know we’re in for a good laugh and an even better visit. 🥹🧡
We’ve been lucky enough to get to know these two over the years, and they’re one of those duos who genuinely brighten up the clinic whenever they come in.
And naturally, they had to show up for spooky season looking THIS good — including Gio casually matching the shirt. 😂🎃
We sure do love these two. 🧡
Happy Halloween from all of us at LPH! 🎃👻🐾
Around the Hospital
Another Month at LPH 🐾
From celebrating the incredible technicians who give so much of themselves to our patients, to Molly’s recovery, wellness education, sibling investigations, kitty jail and Cory & Gio closing out spooky season in style — October gave us plenty to smile about.
Check Back Next Month!
We’ll be back with more patient stories, hospital updates, behind-the-scenes moments and — inevitably — whatever Peanut manages to get himself involved in next.
