Dr. Jacob Adserballe
Veterinary Team Leader
Dr. Jacob Adserballe came to Lethbridge in 2002. He specializes in preventative health, emergency services and enjoys a focus on soft tissue and orthopedic surgery. He is an experienced veterinary team leader and has recently completed a Masters of Business Administration degree (MBA) at Cornell University.
Dr. Beata Harcarikova
Veterinarian
Originally from Slovakia, Dr. Bea has called Calgary home for many years. She offers a broad range of experience in small animal care, including emergency medicine. Known for her calm, attentive approach, she is dedicated to providing thoughtful, high-quality care and ensuring every patient at Lethbridge Pet Hospital feels safe and well looked after.
Dr. Shehata Ibrahim
Veterinarian
Dr. Ibrahim brings a rich international perspective to his work, having practiced in Egypt, Japan, and the United States. With a background in academia—including teaching veterinary pathology at the University of Illinois—he combines deep knowledge with a passion for hands-on care. He’s excited to grow his small animal practice and to support pets and their families at Lethbridge Pet Hospital, where he values building meaningful, lasting relationships within the community.
Dr. Maria Brink
Veterinarian
Dr. Brink brings extensive veterinary experience and knowledge to the Lethbridge Pet Hospital team. She has a particular interest in complex cases that require thorough investigation, critical thinking and careful problem-solving. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Brink enjoys spending time with horses, her dog Adelaide and her cat Fezzik.
Tiva Gorji
Tiva Gorji recently moved to Canada from Tehran, where he managed a pet hospital with his partner Elnaz. He is looking forward to becoming a registered Canadian veterinarian. With a special interest in birds and exotic animals, he is focused on delivering high quality veterinary care to his patients and clients.
Elnaz Shariati
Veterinary Student
Elnaz Shariati is an experienced veterinarian who recently moved to Canada from Tehran, where she ran her own pet hospital. She is excited to work towards becoming a registered Canadian veterinarian. With a dedicated interest in surgery, she is committed to providing exceptional care to her patients.
Lilly Somarriba
Head Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
Lilly Somarriba is an Olds College graduate from the veterinary technology program. Lilly brings her coolheadedness and care for pets to any veterinary challenge and is looking forward to growing her knowledge as a working veterinary technologist.
Desare Gough
Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT)
Desare is a Registered Veterinary Technologist (RVT) who recently made the move from Ontario to join the team at Lethbridge Pet Hospital. She loves bringing a fun, lighthearted energy to the clinic and isn’t afraid to be a little silly while helping pets and their families feel comfortable. Desare is passionate about providing compassionate care and enjoys making every visit a positive experience.
Jordana Morrison
Veterinary Technician Graduate
Jordana has recently completed her Veterinary Technician program and is preparing to write the Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE). She also holds a diploma in Wildlife & Fisheries Conservation and brings a passion for both wildlife and companion animal care to our team.
Tianna O’Connor
RVT Student
Tianna has years of experience as a dog trainer. She is also a very competent and dedicated customer service representative. Tianna is beginning her education as a veterinary technician student and brings her positive and helpful attitude to both the front and back of the hospital.
Lauren Scherloski
RVT Student
Lauren began her journey with Lethbridge Pet Hospital as a volunteer, and we loved having her around so much that we couldn’t let her go! Now a valued Vet Assistant, she spends her free time paddleboarding with her dog and tending to her greenhouse.
Paytyn Doersam
Head Veterinary Assistant
Paytyn Doersam has completed the Veterinary Tech Assistant Certificate at Olds College and is experienced working with animals. She loves being able to help out in the back with whatever the team needs, providing a lending hand to make sure everything runs smoothly and our Lethbridge Pet Hospital patients are well taken care of.
Prabhjot Kaur
Veterinary Assistant
Prabh is one of our wonderful Veterinary Assistants and an essential part of our inventory team. She helps ensure our hospital stays organized, well-stocked, and ready to care for every patient who walks through our doors. When she isn’t assisting the veterinary team or keeping track of supplies, Prabh can usually be found enjoying her favourite snacks and sharing plenty of laughs with her coworkers.

Kiana joined Lethbridge Pet Hospital as a volunteer, and it didn’t take long for our team to realize we couldn’t let her go. Now a Veterinary Assistant, Kiana brings a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a genuine love for animals to every shift. She is always eager to learn, lend a helping hand, and make both pets and their families feel right at home.

Hanako is a Veterinary Assistant at Lethbridge Pet Hospital with a special love for cats and a passion for making every patient feel safe and cared for. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys exploring nature, collecting unique rocks along the way, and spending time outdoors. Hanako’s gentle personality and caring approach make her a wonderful part of the Lethbridge Pet Hospital team.

Shalyssa Mackenzie, our cheerful head receptionist, is full of positive energy. With extensive customer service experience, Shalyssa brings her love of people, pets and organization to Lethbridge Pet Hospital. She ensures that every visitor and furry friend feels welcomed and well-cared for from the moment they walk through our doors.
Ikumi Salazar
Receptionist
Ikumi Salazar has a diverse range of customer service experience, including managing a busy Starbucks in Tokyo. Ikumi’s gentle presence and efficiency are assets to our clients and our whole team. Her client service experience and administrative know-how help owners and their pets have a welcoming experience at Lethbridge Pet Hospital.
Lydia Vandermeulen
Receptionist
Lydia has been part of the Lethbridge Pet Hospital story from the very beginning. She first worked on the construction of our building before joining the team as a Veterinary Assistant. After spending the past year back in school, Lydia has returned as one of our Receptionists, where her familiar face, experience, and friendly personality help make every client and patient feel right at home.

Sam is a Receptionist at Lethbridge Pet Hospital who recently achieved an exciting milestone by being accepted into RVT school. He loves interacting with our clients and patients, taking the time to get to know them and helping make every visit a positive experience. Sam is excited to continue growing his knowledge as he works toward his future career in veterinary medicine.
Saphire Cunningham-Oostlander
Pet Groomer
Saphire has been a pet groomer since 2022. With a calm and warm demeanor and a love for animals, Saphire brings her focus and gentle touch to ensure pets look and feel their best when they emerge from the grooming room. Saphire loves working in a vet hospital where she can provide her clients with a full-service experience.
Crystal MacLean
Finance and Payroll Administrator
Crystal has a background in finance, bookkeeping, and business administration. She has experience with start-up businesses and loves setting up successful business processes. She also holds all parties accountable and makes sure everyone is paid on time.
Joseph Nanale
Facility Manager
Joseph Nanale recently moved to Canada from the Philippines, where he worked as a Registered Electrical Engineer for 13 years. His goal is to become a Professional Engineer in Canada. He brings his construction experience and positive attitude to his role as Facility Manager at Lethbridge Pet Hospital to help everything in our building run smoothly.
Peanut
LPH Mascot
Peanut is our resident cat. He started his journey as a wild cat roaming around our construction site. We were finally able to catch him, give him veterinary care, and adopt him into our Lethbridge Pet Hospital family. He can usually be found exploring our staff area upstairs, trying to steal someone’s lunch, or taking a nap in the windowsill of our staff plant room.
